At Health Diagnostics Lab, we know that pets are more than pets. They are a beloved and vital part of the family. We wanted to design a test that allows you to tailor your pet’s diet to ensure a happy, healthy and more active family member. You may notice that there are only 30 substances to be tested. Sometimes bigger is not always better. We’ve worked with some of the leading pet experts to create a formula that only contains ingredients from the biggest brands of food. All we need is a sample of the fur and we will do the rest. No vet bills, no cones, no problem. We are changing the world’s diet 1 family member at a time!

Download this form to send with the pet food allergy test. The test only requires 3/4 of the hair if the hair is at least 2.5 cm. We test fur samples of all shapes.

  • Ideally, the samples should have the root of the fur, but we understand that this is not always possible.
  • If you are cutting hairs from fur, make sure you cut as close to the root as possible.
  • Once the hair sample is collected, place the hair in a small resealable bag to ensure that the sample remains dry and secure during transport. Do not send hair samples in metal foil or other metal packaging.
  • Place the hair samples in a resealable envelope or postal package and send to the laboratory.
  • Make sure postage is paid. Incorrect postage may cause delays in processing time.
  • Be careful not to put other substances in the bag with the hair, as this can affect the testing.
